Topic: Visual Arts Tour Deadline Coming Right Up!

Now it’s time to send in your application for the October Visual Arts Tour! Please mark your calendar for Friday, October 1, and Saturday, October 2, 2010. The tour is from 5:00-9:00 p.m. on Friday. The public appreciates added hours on Saturday, if possible. Paper forms will be at Spokane Art Supply, Chase Gallery, and Pottery Place Plus. Please keep up the good work with your 80 word descriptive paragraph for publicity purposes (substance and detail in describing the artwork on exhibit). The deadline is Friday August 27. We invite participation from all local galleries—non-profit and for-profit—and we encourage open studios, alternative spaces and business participation in the October Visual Arts Tour. We would be glad to help businesses find artists and give artists resources to find places to show their work. Just give a call to Leanne Sangster at 456-0580 ext. 102 or email her at lsangster@downtownspokane.net. For all other questions, please call Craig Marshall at Spokane Art Supply (327-6622) or email him at craigm@myartsupply.com. Registration, accompanied by a check for $35.00, is due to Spokane Art Supply by Friday, August 27th, at 5:00 p.m. You may email ONE digital image only to VATpic@myartsupply.com also by this date. You can mail in your check and registration form or you can deliver them in person to Spokane Art Supply, 1303 N. Monroe St., Spokane, WA 99201. We will use the registration fee to pay for printing, advertising and other expenses to promote and hold the event. Press releases and images will be sent to selected media contacts. Once again, the Inlander will be a chief sponsor, producing the tour map and program. We invite and encourage you to place an ad in the Inlander section at a discount rate, call Carolyn at 325-0638, ext. 214. It will be very helpful, essential really, that you send in your registration by the deadline. The press release for this event is a volunteer effort, and we need your cooperation to get information put together and sent out to the media in time to meet their deadlines.

Topic: First Friday Planning Guide for 2010

The First Friday Planning Guide for 2010 is complete with brainstorming ideas, the dates for First Fridays this year, and Washington state liquor law information. Anyone wanting to participate in First Friday needs to email their listing information (i.e. artist name, exhibit/series title, type of artwork, if you have music, refreshments, etc.) to Leanne Sangster at lsangster@downtownspokane.net by the deadline. If you have an image to send, please feel free to do so as well. The listings in The Inlander are limited so it is likely that your text will be cut down for the ad, however, the web site and media listings are kept longer (up to 50 words). Download the First Friday Planning Guide for 2010 below and contact Leanne Sangster at lsangster@downtownspokane.net or (509) 456-0580 x 102 for more information.
